Beaufort Park named the Best New Place to Live
Those living in property to rent in the London borough of Barnet will be pleased to hear that one of their neighbourhoods has been awarded a commendation from the mayor of London.
Boris Johnson named Beaufort Park as the Best New Place to Live at the London Planning Awards 2010/2011.
Sir Simon Milton, deputy mayor and chief of staff, presented the award and praised the regeneration of the site, which was formerly home to the RAF Hendon aerodrome.
Councillor Richard Cornelius, London borough of Barnet cabinet member for housing, planning and regeneration, said that the borough was "thrilled" that the mayor had recognised what had been achieved at Beaufort Park.
"Barnet is committed to building quality homes and the mayor supports the views of the hundreds of people who have voted with their feet and moved in to Beaufort Park," he added.
The borough's annual Holocaust Memorial Day service took place last weekend.
