Anti-social behaviour crackdown 'to benefit people in flats to rent in Harrow'
Tenants occupying flats to rent in the London borough of Harrow may benefit from the extension of a programme designed to crackdown on anti-social behaviour in the Wealdstone area.
The scheme was first introduced in April 2009 and gives police the power to break up any groups deemed to be a nuisance to the public.
As well as its extension to April 2011, the council announced the area covered by the order will now include more roads around Harrow Weald Recreation Ground and the High Street.
Superintendent Neil Vyse of Harrow Police said the project will ensure a dispersal zone is in place that can help reduce any anti-social behaviour taking place in the area.
"Its expansion and extension is clearly what local residents want," he stated, adding: "We continue to work closely with the council to tackle problems arising in this part of the borough."
According to the Home Office, a person is guilty of anti-social behaviour when they are intimidating, aggressive or engage in destructive activity that has a negative effect on someone else's quality of life.
