Renting property 'a lifestyle choice'
Living in rented residences such as flats to rent in Fulham and property to rent in Kensington should be seen as "an alternative lifestyle choice" to getting tied up by purchasing bricks and mortar, it has been suggested.
According to Ian Potter, operations manager of the Association of Residential Letting Agents, renting "should no longer be perceived as waste of money", as the general consensus has suggested in the past.
Detailing the benefits of using the private rented sector, Mr Potter said: "Today's graduates, more than ever, are looking for work that involves travel and opportunities to move around; renting allows them to operate more freely in a flexible job market."
Earlier this year, the government announced that it aims to focus on the rented sector of the property industry in the coming months.
Various schemes have been mooted to improve this area, while Ian Austin MP was given responsibility for the sector after a cabinet reshuffle in the spring.
