How tenants can host the perfect dinner party
Modern dinner parties are more relaxed, one sector commentator has claimed, as more people choose to stay in and invite friends and family round in order to save money on going out.
However, according to research by After Eight, hosting a dinner party adds more stress to people's everyday lives, with individuals finding it more stressful than seeing the bank manager, going for a job interview or commuting to work.
But Alison Walker, chief home economist at Good Housekeeping, said this does not have to be the case, as the key to a successful dinner party is creating a relaxing atmosphere.
"What makes a good dinner party is firstly having people you like [there], a good mix of people and two, having good food without being too concerned about it being absolutely perfect," she explained.
Ms Walker added that Britons could even "cheat" by buying the desert or admitting the starter was shop-bought and that the most important thing was that the hosts appeared relaxed.
Britons looking for flats to rent in Fulham or another part of London may wish to choose a property with a good space in which to entertain so they can invite friends and family to enjoy their new home with them this Christmas.
