Council announces new parking plans for Fulham
People seeking flats to rent in Fulham will be able to benefit from expanded parking facilities thanks to a new package of measures from the local authority.
Hammersmith & Fulham Council has recently opened the 200th new parking bay to be set up in the area since 2007, a scheme designed to ease congestion in the fourth smallest borough in the country.
In addition, parking charges are being frozen at a standard rate of £2.20 per hour or £2.80 per hour in town centres, while 20 additional parking spaces are also being planned for construction near Loftus Road.
These changes are being rolled out following consultations with motorists during the Get Moving campaign, conducted by the council last year.
Nick Botterill, deputy leader of the council, said: "We know from speaking to residents that parking and traffic jams are two of the biggest problems that motorists face in our small, densely packed borough."
Last month, the council reopened the Hammersmith Flyover to light traffic following works to strengthen the structure, thus making it safer for motorists.
