Britons 'concerned about winter energy bills'
Energy bills are weighing heavily on the minds of many Britons as they worry about how they will afford to pay them.
Indeed, 65 per cent of consumers have admitted they are spending more time thinking about their utilities spending as a result of the recent cold weather than they would typically, a new report from Which? has found.
And with 38 per cent of Britons worrying about how they will pay their bills, many are now considering using their savings, giving up a gym membership or cutting back on holiday and clothing spending in order to cover it.
Martyn Hocking, editor of Which?, said: "There's little choice but to turn the heating up when you're faced with cold weather, so it's inevitable that people are going to worry about their bills."
Britons may wish to consider flats to rent in Fulham or elsewhere in the capital, as with prices to buy property in London usually higher than the national average, this could see them saving more money than they would be forking out for a mortgage.
And tenants can also take advantage of the government's new boiler scrappage scheme, designed to help people save money on their energy bills.
