Altair reviews CityWest Homes
CityWest Homes has been given approval by housing consultancy Altair after an independent review was carried out.
Altair’s study will be utilised by Westminster City Council to inform decisions on the future of its housing management model this year, with CityWest being in charge of managing the authority’s properties since 2002.
The group has worked hard to improve conditions for locals, with satisfaction reaching a record high among tenants and leaseholders last year. The evaluation was commissioned three years into its existing contract with CityWest Homes in an ongoing drive to deliver more improvements to housing stock.
Overall, the recommendation was that CityWest Homes should carry on delivering existing responsibilities to 21,000 properties for the authority, offering a wide range of support to customers.
The report from Altair found that CityWest Homes offers a first class services to customers and is among the leading groups in its field.
Councillor Daniel Astaire, cabinet member for Housing, said “This council is first and foremost dedicated to achieving high standards and value for money for our residents. This ambition was behind our decision to commission an independent report, and we are pleased with Altair’s positive assessment of CityWest Homes and the current direction of travel.
“Nevertheless, there is always room to improve, and the report highlights opportunities for CityWest Homes to lift standards further, drive value for residents and show greater leadership in local communities.”
Mr Astaire went on to say that value for money is a top priority, with the group working with CityWest Homes to allow them to provide substantial savings while guaranteeing a top quality service to homeowners.
Adam Humphryes, Chair of CityWest Homes’ board, also commented on the report, noting that it is “extremely timely” and has been received positively.
Mr Humphryes explained that CityWest recognises its role in supporting the group to deliver its long term priorities.
