Woolwich residents to be briefed on traffic plans for Olympics
People occupying flats to rent in Woolwich are being briefed by the council on traffic and parking management plans during the upcoming Olympic Games.
Greenwich Council held an event at the Woolwich Centre earlier this month to discuss the plans with locals and will be meeting with residents again at Ravensbourne on January 27th and 28th.
Temporary parking and traffic management measures will be necessitated by the number of Olympic and Paralympic events that will be taking place in the North Greenwich area, which are expected to draw huge crowds.
Among them will be the shooting competition and the Paralympic archery competition at the Royal Artillery Barracks, while gymnastics, trampoline events and the basketball finals will also be held in the borough.
"Residents and businesses are encouraged to attend and find out how they may be affected and to comment on the plans," said the council.
The Olympics will help to contribute to an exciting year for Greenwich in 2012, as the area is also receiving a title of Royal Borough next month.
