Carnival fever set to hit Richmond residents
Residents living in property to rent in the London borough of Richmond will be able to get involved when carnival fever hits the area on June 12th.
At this year's Twickenham Carnival, residents and visitors will get to see giant Arabian camels, Indian elephants and masked African tribesman when the event kicks off.
Floats created by local community groups and schools will start the carnival action, with Caribbean steel bands, drummers and dancers playing their part in the colourful parade, which has this year been inspired by a Journeys theme.
Richmond Council hopes this year's event will be even bigger than before, dwarfing the numbers who attended last year.
"The carnival is one of the highlights of the summer in Twickenham. We have a great line-up this year, so put the date in your diary, invite all your family and friends, and join the fun," said councillor Pamela Fleming, strategic cabinet member for community development at Richmond Council.
Recently, the council announced it was considering implementing another freeze on council tax in the 2012-13 financial year, which could really benefit those living in flats to rent in the London borough of Richmond.
