Wandsworth council tax is frozen once again
People living in flats to rent in the London borough of Wandsworth will not face a council tax rise this year, the local authority has confirmed.
According to Wandsworth Council, the rate will remain the same as it has been for the last three years, and it is on course to be the lowest in the country once more, with the average cost for a band D property standing at just £687.
Deputy council leader Maurice Heaster said the organisation is "committed" to cutting costs without putting a burden on residents.
"Many years of prudent financial management have put us in a stronger position than many other local authorities, and have helped us keep our council tax low," he explained.
Mr Heaster added that the council's Wandsworth Challenge agenda is trying to identify "innovative" ways of delivering services through working with residents and voluntary and community groups.
Meanwhile, new retail, leisure, residential, employment and educational opportunities are continuing to arise as part of a regeneration programme from the Wandsworth Town Centre Partnership to improve the area further for people in flats to rent in the London borough of Wandsworth.
