Wandsworth Arts Festival line-up unveiled
The full programme for the Wandsworth Arts Festival has been released.
People with a healthy interest in culture may be encouraged to look at property to rent in Wandsworth after seeing the range of activities on offer. In total, over 45 events are set to be held across the borough.
It will be running from May 11th - 27th and individuals can see various live performances, visual arts displays and exhibitions. The highlight of the occasion is set to be The Shimmy on the final day, which will be an afternoon of eclectic outdoor arts.
The event is being sponsored by Southside Shopping Centre and St James, while funding has come from Arts Council England - which is set to invest £1.4 billion of government money in schemes between 2011 and 2015.
Those who go down to Tooting Market can meet some of the artists taking part in the festival, while there will be a grand showcase on March 26th. "This is in addition to Brick Box's popular market offer - Pick and Mix. Festival fun, delicious food, fresh coffee and home baked cakes alongside free art workshops for children are on offer every Saturday from 09:00 GMT to 17:00," the council observed.
A special feature will also be running called the Sweet Smell of Success. Visitors are to be offered the chance to contribute their own profile, while individuals will also be able to get their own scent bottled using custom-made technology. This is taking place on all three Saturdays.
For those who like their fun to be a bit more up tempo, an interactive street performance will be put on by Emergency Exit Arts. The group is collaborating with BOOMhead junk percussion crew, Wandsworth Young Carers and Young Refugees Projects in order to bring the event to life in Roehampton.
