Top authors heading to Wandsworth libraries
Literature lovers in property to rent in the London borough of Wandsworth have the opportunity to listen to two writers speak later this week.
Wandsworth Council revealed that authors Andrea Eames and Andy Merriman will be appearing at two libraries in the borough on Thursday (February 10th) to speak about their most recent works.
Ms Eames will be present at Earlsfield Library on Magdalen Road from 18:30 GMT to talk about her debut novel The Cry of the Go-Away Bird, which is about growing up in Zimbabwe in the country's turbulent violent past.
Meanwhile, Mr Merriman will speak about Margaret Rutherford: Dreadnaught With Good Manners, his most recent biography, from 20:00 GMT at Balham Library.
The author will also be on hand to answer questions about the art of writing for television and radio, after acting as a programme consultant for the recent BBC4 production Hattie.
Last month, Barking and Dagenham Council confirmed that it will not be closing any of its libraries in an attempt to meet government budget cuts.
