Job service 'may help people in flats to rent in Wandsworth'
flats to rent in the London borough of Wandsworth could be popular among those looking for a new job, as an employment service has been launched by the local authorities.
Wandsworth Council has teamed up with bodies from Merton, Sutton and Croydon to introduce a job brokerage service, that will allow employers to have free access to a selection of candidates.
These potential workers will have completed an eight-week Personal Best employability training scheme to ensure they are committed and well prepared if a suitable position does come up.
Councillor Ravi Govindia, business spokesperson for Wandsworth Council, said: "This will be an extremely valuable resource to the borough's many small businesses which cannot afford to use private recruitment firms and can struggle to find high quality new staff."
There was other good news for the borough this week, as the new Wandsworth Museum located in the former West Hill library building was opened by council leader Edward Lister, Mayor of London Boris Johnson and culture secretary Jeremy Hunt.
