'Free parking' outside property to rent in Wandsworth
The coming weekend is to give those staying in property to rent in Wandsworth the chance to park outside for free.
Wandsworth Council notes that Monday, December 28th is the official Boxing Day bank holiday this year.
As a result, around half of the 32 boroughs of London are enforcing parking charges on Saturday, the Council reports from a BBC London study.
However, those with property to rent in Wandsworth could welcome the news that the Council is relaxing its parking charges for the entire Christmas weekend.
As a result, parking is free on both the calendar Boxing Day of Saturday, December 26th and on the official public holiday the subsequent Monday.
"We wanted to do all we could to make it easy for residents to welcome their friends and relatives for the traditional festive break," says transport spokesman Councillor Guy Senior.
Although no refuse collection is due to be carried out on December 25th-26th and January 1st-2nd, affected households are told that their bins will be emptied on the following working day.
