Right between Eltham and Welling lies Falconwood, a prime location to find a great first time property, an excellent and affordable area for families and a relaxing, easy commute into town for professionals.
One of the first things that one notices in the Falconwood area is the amount of open space around. Obviously this is de rigeur in the Southeast London area, but the area is more provided than most, with Falconwood Park, Eltham Park and the magnificent, ancient Oxleas Wood nearby - as well as Greenwich and Blackheath being a hop and a skip away. Local schools are excellent. The area is easygoing, friendly and multicultural, and has good cafes, shops and plenty of places to eat either in Falconwood itself - there are two good local parades with huge variety in them - as well as Eltham or further afield to Bexley and other areas.
The area is full of excellent, often large properties, mostly houses but with flats and apartments that are found, particularly above the shops in the streets in the area. However Falconwood is known for semidetached and detached properties of good size. These are mostly very affordable, many of them with large gardens perfect for growing families, and a good number with off-street parking on the wide, open and safe roads that run off from the high street. For maximum space for your money in Southeast London, there are few places better than this to look; with three rail stations meaning the centre of town, and many of the best places in London are within easy reach.
Falconwood is an excellent bet for anyone looking for great space and excellent value for money, along with an excellent place to live.
