Tenants in flats to rent in London could benefit from storage tips
People occupying flats to rent in London may wish to follow some recommendations on how to maximise storage space in their rented accommodation.
Susan Llewellyn, owner of interior design company Susan Llewellyn Associates, said people living in flats may not have an attic or a garage where they can keep possessions.
An individual could try storing things under the bed or - as footwear can be messy - investing in a shoe rack may help reduce clutter.
"The main thing is to keep a cupboard or a chest of drawers," Ms Llewellyn - who has been running the business for the past three decades - noted.
"A chest of drawers is good because it can take a lot of stuff," she added.
Ms Llewellyn also offered tips on how to keep furniture in good condition, advising that a damp cloth can be used on white items and window ledges to keep them clean.
One way people could help to make space in their home is to invest in a slim five drawer cart from Tesco Direct, which is priced at £21.99.
