Located in Central London in the postcode district SE1, London Bridge is in the borough of Southwark and is located right on the River Thames.

It stretches from London Bridge, beyond Potters Fields Park to just past Tower Bridge on both sides of the Thames.

Schools

The five primary schools nearest to the centre of London Bridge are The Cathedral School of St Saviour and St Mary Overy, St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Beormund Primary School, Snowsfields Primary School and the London Christian School.

Of the pupils at The Cathedral School of St Saviour and St Mary Overy who took their Key Stage 2 SATS tests last year, 100 per cent achieved a Level 4 and above in English, maths and science.

There are five secondary schools within 0.93 miles of the centre of London Bridge.

These are the City of London School, Globe Academy, St Saviours and St Olave's Church of England School, St Michael's RC School, and London Nautical School.

Of the 599 Year 11 pupils that sat their GCSE exams at St Saviours and St Olave's Church of England School in 2010, some 73 per cent achieved five A* - C grades, which is much higher than the national average.

Things to do

London Bridge contains a wide variety of restaurants, catering for all kinds of palates, whether it's a modern meal you're after or a traditional feast of pie and mash.

There are a number of sophisticated bars in the district that can be enjoyed for classy after-dinner drinks, but there are also lots of pubs for those who prefer a quiet pint.

When it comes to looking for things to do in London Bridge, you'll not have to look for long as the area is teeming with exciting venues and attractions.

These include the famous Tower of London, the London Dungeon and the Tower Bridge Experience.

Those who enjoy visiting places of historical interest can head to Southwark Cathedral, which is the oldest cathedral church building in London.

People who prefer their attractions more on the modern side can visit the Design Museum, which was established by Terence Conran 22 years ago.
