Just to the Northwest of London, Park Royal is a busy and thriving town, one of the largest in the West London area and a huge provider of jobs and shopping. It is despite this, leafy, friendly and a very easy place to live.
Shopping is a big thing in Park Royal. Its shopping centre is hugely busy, featuring all the big names and regarded locally as being as good as Oxford Street. But Park Royal is also a great place for the odd and the out of the way, and features dealers in collectors' items and an excellent local craft market. The area is known also for its industrial buildings, the large number of local businesses, and the quite unexpected greenery. There are plentiful walks along the canal as well as a lot of nearby parks and gardens. The area is also filled with leisure centres, stables, golf and tennis courts, as well as providing dry slope skiing!
Here, property is plentiful and affordable. Mostly, there are streets of midwar houses and later properties, although there are also some houses - mostly semidetached and terraces - from earlier periods. Flat hunters are also advised to give the area a try, as its location - far out to the west yet linked well into central London - make it perfect for a quick commute, and any maisonettes or blocks provide excellent homes and are superbly affordable.
