Area Comments
Busy, fashionable, laid back and with great views and great properties, Crouch End remains one of the premier destinations in North London.
A busy little village centre, Crouch End's mix of staunch locals and middle class inhabitants have pushed the development of a very large range of shop and restaurants as well as bars and evening hangouts; this is a place of funky pubs and excellent, sometimes very reasonable, places to eat. Shopping includes a good selection of local produce and design and very handy access to larger stores nearby. The area is very popular with musicians, film and media workers and this is reflected in the character of eateries, bars and shops.
Large Edwardian and Victorian properties are plentiful here, with a lot of the big houses subdivided - this place has a huge array of flats available to the funky, young people who flood in. These are popular both to young upwardly mobile professionals and to first time buyers looking to take their ease in a lively and cosmopolitan area. There are of course houses that remain un-subdivided, chiefly large Edwardian properties in a fine state of repair, fantastic housing for families keen on getting some serious space.
Crouch End is just down from Alexandra Park and to the west of Finsbury, and the village sits in wide, green tree-lined streets that provide a great atmosphere for the creativity its known for, as well as providing truly excellent family homes.
